Saudi: Attorney General Orders Arrests of 2 People for Insulting Expat
Saudi Arabia’s Attorney General Sheikh Saud Al-Muajab has ordered the arrest of two people for insulting an expatriate.
An official source at the Public Prosecution said the attorney general’s directive followed a report submitted by the Prosecution Monitoring Center regarding a video that went viral on social media showing two people insulting an expatriate.
The video showed one of them men disguised as a woman deceiving the expatriate while the duo were sitting in a vehicle. The defendants recorded and published the video, which would prejudice public morals and the sanctity of private life.
The attorney general called for registering a criminal case against the perpetrators, in preparation to produce the men in the competent court and seek deterrent penalties for them.
