Bahrain: New daily record of 1,732 cases announced

Bahrain’s Health Ministry announced the new daily coronavirus record of 1,732 cases out of 17,822 COVID-19 tests. The previous daily record was announced on 7 May 2021, with 1,706 cases.
Of the new cases, 670 were expatriate workers, 1,050 new cases were contacts of active cases, and 12 were travel related.

There were 875 recoveries, increasing total recoveries to 177,212.
Six people died yesterday, taking the death toll to 697. The deaths included two Bahrainis – a man, 61, and a woman, 55 – as well as four expat men, 76, 36 and 36. No information was provided if they suffered any preexisting medical conditions.
There are currently 142 cases in a critical condition, and 237 cases receiving treatment. 14,699 are stable out of a total of 14,841 active cases.
