Bahrain Leads by 62% Recovery rate, Saudi Second with 22%
Bahrain leads the fight against the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Middle East; with the highest rate of recoveries among other countries. Sixty-two percent of those infected have already recovered – a result of The Ministry of Health’s persistent efforts in combatting the deadly virus.
Of the total 723 cases recorded, 451 people have already recovered and left the treatment centres. Currently, there are 268 active cases of COVID-19, with four in critical condition and four deaths registered.
Bahrain is ahead in GCC’s fight against coronavirus with 62% of recoveries, followed by Saudi (22%), Oman (18%), Kuwait (15%) and both the UAE and Qatar with 8%.
Bahrain has recorded four deaths – all citizens with underlying health conditions.
To date, the Ministry of Health is continuously conducting field visits across the Kingdom to collect random medical samples, in line with its efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.
In addition, the Police Directorate ensures that citizens and residents follow the necessary social distancing precautions.
