Bahrain: Maximum Selling Price of Face Masks Fixed

Industry and Commerce Minister Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani has today issued an edict fixing the price of face masks and ensuring their availability amid soaring demand as the country battles the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The SURGICAL FACE and N95 FACE types of masks will be priced respectively at 140 Fils and BD1.4  as a maximum selling price for the consumer per piece for a period of three months from the date of implementation of the provisions of this edict.

Under the ministerial edict, it is prohibited to export all kinds of medical face masks for a period of three months, unless permitted by the Ministry.

Violators of the provisions of this edict shall be punished with the penalties stipulated in Law No. (35) of 2012 on consumer protection.
