Saudi Issues Strict Measures to Combat Coronavirus
Information Affairs Minister, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, said that the Saudi national who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) had arrived in his country via Bahrain before the strict measures had been enforced in Bahrain and before Iran’s announcement of the spread of COVID-19 across its cities.
The minister lauded the on-going cooperation between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in various fields, expressing the kingdom’s full support for the precautionary measures taken by Saudi Arabia to protect Umrah pilgrims and visitors to Prophet Mohammed (PBUH)’ Mosque.
Al-Romaihi stressed that measures undertaken by Bahrain to prevent the spread of COVID-19 had been proactive, and had been appreciated by the citizens as they aimed to protect them and preserve public health, affirming that all confirmed COVID-19 cases had come from Iran and that no case has been registered inside Bahrain.
Concluding his statement, the Information Minister confirmed that all Bahrain’s exits are open for all and work at them is normal, noting that the kingdom’s strict measures target those coming from the coronavirus-affected countries only.
